Dr. Colleen Gnyp, BSc, BA, OD
Dr. Colleen Gnyp graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 2001. During the course of her education she completed an ocular disease and therapeutics internship in Houston, Texas. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Saskatchewan.
Upon returning to Saskatchewan, Dr. Gnyp worked as an associate in Saskatoon and owned a private practice in Prince Albert, before relocating to Calgary in 2006. She opened Cranston Market Optometry in 2010 to provide excellent eyecare to the communities of SouthEast Calgary.
Dr. Gnyp believes in the importance of lifelong eye health exams from infant through senior years, and is committed to patient education. She works with each patient to provide eye care and product recommendations that are best for that individual. She has a special interest in refractive eye surgery and has worked at both LASIK-MD and Gimbel Eye Centre.
Dr. Colleen Gnyp enjoys travel, reading and spending time with family and friends. She runs the Vancouver half-marathon each May and is enthusiastic about outdoor activities including hiking, skiing and fishing. She is married to Malcolm and they have a son Matthew who was born in 2011.
Dr. Adrienne LeVasseur, BScH SSP, OD.
Dr. Adrienne LeVasseur received a Bachelor of Science with Honours, Subject of Specialization in research, at Queen's University. She published results from her research at the Queen's University Eye Movement Laboratory before obtaining her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo. She practiced in Ottawa and served as Vice President for the Ottawa Society of Optometrists before moving to Calgary. She has extensive experience working with refractive surgeons as well as in general family optometry, and serves as a member of the Canadian Examiners in Optometry. Dr. LeVasseur has traveled to Mexico, Costa Rica, and the Philippines to provide eye care to underprivileged populations.
Adrienne is a second generation optometrist who claims that her father's obvious enjoyment for his career motivated her to pursue optometry. She is pleased to offer eye examinations in French and Spanish as well as English. Dr. LeVasseur enjoys the variety of outdoor activities that Calgary and surrounding areas have to offer. She takes great interest in preventative health and teaches fitness classes in her spare time.
